Purple really is one of those underrated colors. It’s always been my mom’s favorite, and I’m beginning to think she was on to something. Erica Weddings has played a big part in warming me up to the color with this beautiful Royal-inspired shoot. Alongside the golden light captured beautifully by Picturesque Photos by Amanda, the purple details really are ridiculously pretty.
From the photographer… Myself and all of the vendors involved are so excited to share with you our old world royal themed styled shoot designed especially with SMP in mind! You’ll love the deep purple combined with the glow of the golden hour in the forest. The location is a little nitch that we cleared on my (Picturesque Photos by Amanda) 16-acre outdoor studio outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma, in the heart of the ancient Cross Timbers Forest. The model that we used is a former Erica Weddings bride that had the perfect look, including that beautiful red hair! Below you will find some words from Erica about how she brought the shoot together with her amazing vision. Thank you so much for the consideration!
From the planner… Purple: the color of royalty. Kings and Queens have worn it for centuries as a symbol of their royal status. If a royal engagement ever existed in Oklahoma, this is what their wedding would look like. Contrasted with the beautiful fall landscape that Oklahoma has to offer right before winter arrives, this aubergine, apricot and gold design really makes a statement. Committed to paying homage to the beauty of royalty of generations past, timelessness was the goal. A beautifully crafted wood dining table topped with a runner of lush floral, vivid greenery and mixed taper candles. A diamond in the rough find in an amazing vintage couch that was reupholstered just so this design could come to life. The custom chalk art in the gold scroll frame displaying the Emily Bronte quote anchors the whole set. Simple place settings are embellished by items such as custom place mats displaying the menu for the evening as well as individual cakes for each guest at the table of honor. But the most powerful element of this whole design is our bride. Katy Schmelz: a stunning woman that is a perfect fit to portray a timeless bride with royal beauty. Who doesn’t love a fair-skinned, red head whose beauty is comparable to that of Nicole Kidman? Brides of all kinds can take inspiration from her timeless look.
