A Bride inspired by twinkling lights, peonies and blush? Sign.us.up. It’s the trifecta of our our favorite things at SMP, so when we see it play out beautifully in a wedding like this one planned by Simply By Tamara Nicole and captured by Melissa Shaw Photography we couldn’t be happier if we tried. It’s image after image of pure gorgeous, and you can see it all right here.
From the Bride…What inspired me was that I wanted a vintage romantic look with lots of twinkle lights and candles. My color scheme was easy because I wanted blush pink ever since I saw pictures of Carrie Underwood’s wedding. Plus I added some silver and mercury to make it more antique looking.I started my decor out by picking up some antique items from the thrift shop. First I found an old antique teapot that we used to hold flowers on the card table and then I started finding more and more antique silver items.
My favorite flowers are peonies but since they weren’t in season we used garden roses which resembled them. I wanted all the flowers to look like you walked into an old Victorian flower garden and I think Chandin really accomplished that look. I wanted to keep the groomsman light and summery looking so we left the jackets off and just went with suspenders to give it a vintage 20’s look and the ring bearer just added perfectly to that look with his news boy outfit. I also wanted pearls and lace to be incorporated because that screams vintage to me, so all the girls and I wore pearls and my dress was all lace. Because the wedding was in the barn I didn’t want it to look too shabby chic but I think we stayed away from that by renting and stuffing the barn with vintage furniture from vintage-ambiance.
