Let’s be honest – it’s hard to beat a homespun wedding. There’s a certain magic that happens when a family comes together to create a beautiful, bespoke affair; every detail, every moment comes from a place of total love. And the object of my latest handcrafted wedding affection? This Casa Reta “I do” inspired by the perfect picnic. Merari Photography snapped the goods, and you can have a nice, long look in the gallery right here.
From Merari Photography… Rafael and Alicia wanted to laid-back family picnic style wedding and that’s exactly what they got. Everything was a family affair. The details were crafted or hand-picked by Alicia, Rafael and their family members. Alicia’s bouquet was made by her aunt, the vintage furniture pieces were bought through Craigslist and refurbished by Rafael. The food was potluck style with delicious things from Alicia’s Cuban heritage and Rafael’s Dominican family traditions. Even the flower vases were flown in from Cuba from Alicia’s great-grandmother’s home.
Despite some rain on their wedding day, Rafael and Alicia were the happiest of couples. Their happiness was contagious s as they said personal vows to each other. The wedding and couple were the biggest joy to photograph.
