Elegant Farm Wedding in the Berkshires

When talents like Judy Pak and True Event join forces, magic inevitably happens. And this Gedney Farm stunner is proof. With a perfectly pastel palette, beautiful blooms by Petal Floral Design (the escort card display is my new favorite) and one seriously beautiful couple – this fête is basically a wedding bloggers dream come true, and you can all the reasons why right here.

From the Bride…Though it was my grandparents that introduced me to the Berkshires, my long love affair only intensified when Jeff and I began dating and taking mini getaways up to western Mass where my parents had also purchased a vacation home. It was important to me that he shared the same appreciation for the area that I did. We’ve forged special memories with family and friends over the years there. When Jeff proposed it took us no time to agree on the Berkshires for our wedding weekend. After a quick search, we found Gedney Farm and knew it had everything we were looking for.

We wanted to create a unique and fun wedding weekend that captured the essence of what we love and value about the Berkshires for our crowd. The feeling we wanted to capture was something classic but with an over-arching laid-back, whimsical and fun vibe.

Because our rehearsal dinner was at my parents’ house in a tent, we wanted the theme to match the atmosphere of the night which we well knew would involve tons of roasting, toasting and fanfare. Bright lively flowers and linens, star-paper lanterns with bistro lightings and chalkboard menus brought our vision to life and matched the playful atmosphere of the evening.

To contrast with the rehearsal dinner, we wanted something more ethereal and rustic for our wedding day. Gedney Farm’s wedding knoll is so enchanting and the backdrop of the Berkshire mountains and trees provided the most picturesque setting for our ceremony. Upon guests arrivals, there were iced teas, a fan program, and a galvanized bin for them to change their shoes into flip flops.

For the cocktail hour we incorporated hay bale seating and wine-barrel tables with mini galvanized buckets overflowing with flowers. We used a clothespin escort card holder decorated with draping garden roses, foliage, and antlers as table centerpieces.

The reception included rented chandeliers adding a glamorous element to the dance floor, all mixed in with an abundance of candles- both metallic and glass. There were lush, romantic flowers everywhere. Elan Artists’ Rhythm Collective kept people on the dance floor the whole night and a Momokufu wedding cake and small honey favors wrapped up the evening at the Farm.

To honor my family history and Berkshire tradition, we had the Chuppah designed by a local craftswoman, the ceremony music performed by a Berkshire band and I danced with my Dad to “Sweet Baby James”. I had our family book that has been carried with the bridal bouquet in my family since the 1800s. Judy Pak captured the day and night perfectly with her enchanting, signature pictures and Ruben Hernandez from Ira Lippke with his timeless aesthetic in videography.

My florist, Becca Olcott from Petal Floral Design helped me play out my ideas with her creativity and artistry. An eclectic group of vendors from Etsy shipped from all over the country to formulate the look. Sarah True and Caitlin Campbell from True Event kept my sanity with their constant support and flawless execution.

The party continued in a different location where tiki torches surrounded a dance floor, Mexican blankets made up a lounge area and a friend DJ-ed into wee hours of the night under a meteor shower.
