DIY Formal Wedding at Rufflands Farm
First of all, I will never get over this Kathryn Conover Couture custom gown. But even beyond that dream, this wedding shocked me when I realized it was DIY. It's so stinking beautiful, and obviously so, captured by Divine Light Photography, that I've been sitting here quite honestly in awe for far longer than I'd like to admit.
From the stunning bride... Our Hudson Valley outdoor DIY wedding was simply perfect. It rained two hours before the ceremony and poured as soon as we started dancing the night away in the barn, but the dramatic clouds made for the perfect backdrop to our ceremony, which was lead by the brides cousin. We planned our wedding completely on our own, created all the paper products (save the dates, invitations, name cards, ceremony cards). Family members all chipped in to make the day perfect. The brides mother foraged for local flowers and made crowns for the flower girls, bouquets for the maids and bride and boutonnières and wrist corsages for the groomsmen and grandmothers. The rock climbers in the family (including the groom and best man) teamed up to scale the massive vaulted rafters of the barn to hang the swooping sheer white fabric and three chandeliers, to get the ambiance of the rustic formal wedding just right. And the DIY list goes on and on...
