What can I say about this wedding, other than this: it is completely amazing. The kind of amazing where every.last.moment is filled with heartwarming details, beautiful blooms from Elegance & Simplicity, Inc. and a First Look between father and daughter that is the best you’ll ever see. It’s a day of non-stop emotion, and you can see it all captured by Tell Chronicles in the full gallery.
From Elegance & Simplicity, Inc.… Lindsey + Sean’s wedding theme was “history in the making!” Their inspiration comes from the word vintage, but in her opinion – vintage is only true vintage if it is from your own family.
The bride’s bridal bouquet had photos of her family hanging from the stems. There were special photos of her mother – who passed away when she was very young and yet she is super close to her stepmother which she actually calls her mom.
She was really close to all of her friends and has a really small family – hence the reason she asked her guests to “select a seat not a side.”
She also had a beautiful family memory table along with a guest book quilt to use forever to pass down to all generations.
From the Bride… We had a lot of family history signature pieces on our special day! From our mothers’ and grandmothers’ wedding dresses on display with their wedding day pictures, to the tribute to my late mother at the beginning of our ceremony, all the way to having my fathers old blue tee shirt cut into a heart and then stitched into my wedding dress over my heart.
One of my favorite DIY projects was the groomsmen boutonnieres. They were made from various turkey feathers and old buttons to symbolize the groom’s love and passion for hunting and fishing.
I also handmade each bridesmaids’ gold bracelet from old clip on earrings!
Another favorite was my wedding band which was made by combining diamonds from my birth mother, stepmother, Sean’s mother and Sean’s grandmother’s rings.
Everything was a tribute to our families which we love so very much. Even Sean’s father, Jerry, got ordained and married us outside on a beautiful sunny fall day at Congressional Country Club.
On our wedding day, we embraced the history of where we come from, but we also made some history of our own!
