From the Bride… Ryan and I had always envisioned our wedding day to be intimate, unique and centered around our friends and family. As a wedding photographer I knew exactly what I wanted design wise, and Ryan agreed that Crossing Vineyards was the perfect blank canvas to bring that vision to life. We chose blush, gold and sequin details for nearly everything. Our girls picked their own dresses, and were tied together by lush bouquets of pink astilbe flower – my favorite.

My dress was blush, and I wore pink and white ombre sequin heels. My bouquet, as well as the ceremony aisle, featured garden roses in ombre shades of pink and peach. Over a year of planning went into all of the little details, from the hand picked vintage stamps we used on our invites, to the hand picked Asian pears used for escort cards, to the veil that Ryan’s mom hand made for me a week before the wedding. Our beloved dogs, Olive and Cudi, were walked down the aisle by a good friend, and that was one of our favorite additions we made that guests loved.

A welcome table on the ceremony lawn featured vintage black and white photographs of both families – a fun and touching surprise for both sides. My beloved uncle James passed away a few months before our wedding, and we honored his love of traveling by featuring vintage post cards of Philadelphia, New York and New Orleans in lieu of a guest book. At the reception, Little Baby’s Ice Cream, a boutique ice cream company, provided amazing treats in flavors like Bourbon Bourbon Vanilla and Peanut Butter Maple Tarragon.

Our personal and most memorable events from the day included the first look in Washington Crossing, which was incredibly emotional for both of us and something we will never forget. During our ceremony, we read our own vows to one another. It was an extremely personal and intimate ceremony, which is exactly what we wanted. We are still hearing from our parents how there was not a dry eye in sight.

Even months after the wedding we still talk about how it was the most amazing day of our lives, and something we’d love to redo over and over again. We are already looking forward to renewing our vows in New Orleans – the city where we first fell in love and one year later got engaged in.
