Blush Pink Wedding at The Athenaeum

Pretty doesn't even begin to describe the beauty that is this wedding. I'm not sure there is a word which can accurately portray the beautiful bride's smile, or the pure art from The Little Branch, or the rosy glow of love everpresent in every image from Onelove Photography. It's the kind of wedding that alludes to all of the best adjectives, but don't take my word for it, take a look for yourself!

From the stunning bride... From the beginning, we knew we wanted our wedding to be one fun party for our friends and family, though figuring out everything else was not quite as simple!

We both live in New York City, but wanted to have the wedding in Pasadena, where I grew up. We looked at a number of venues around Los Angeles, but decided on The Athenaeum for its sophisticated yet laid-back and distinctly California feel. We loved the ornate columns, the olive tree-lined walkways, the wood-paneled walls and hand-painted ceilings, all of which added character and charm to our wedding.

Once we found bridesmaids dresses in dusty rose silk chiffon, we decided to make that our color theme, along with gold accents. Our wedding was on the last day of summer and we took full advantage of that! Dusty rose and gold made the venue feel light and airy, and our florist helped tie everything together with peonies, ranunculus, garden roses and other big bloomed florals in shades of muted pink and peach.

Planning from across the country was not easy, though we were able to find some amazing vendors. Our month-of planner, Samantha Sisk, was the best -- wedding guests are still gushing about how great she was! Our photographer Jessica from Onelove Photography had an eye for capturing all the little moments we may have missed and our florist, The Little Branch, put so much thought into every detail.

Our wedding was classic, traditional and romantic, but we incorporated a lot of our own personal touches. From our signature cocktail (raspberry mojito-- Mike loves raspberries and I love mojitos, so an easy decision) to our gold "Treat Yo Self" garland, we wanted our wedding to feel joyful, fun and like us. And, of course, Etsy came in handy for last minute touches like welcome bag additions, striped straws and customized stickers for our favors.

We owe our thanks to our families, friends and amazing vendors, who all played an important role in creating the best day of our lives.
