Classic Lowndes Grove Plantation Wedding
Call me a major wedding nerd, but I've spent a borderline embarrassing amount of time swooning this Charleston soiree. It's Southern charm taken to a whole knew level, planned with love by the bride slash creative genius, Kellie Ryan Designs. The fabulous Buffy Dekmar shot it all behind her lovely little lens, and the pinning frenzy is waiting to commence right over here!
From Buffy Dekmar Photography... Kellie and Christopher are both from New England were they began their relationship as high school sweethearts, but when Kellie's parents moved to Charleston a few years ago, the couple realized that this beautiful city would be the perfect place for a romantic celebration as they committed their lives to each other.
These two envisioned a classically beautiful, low country soiree for their wedding day. Set against a golden Atlantic sunset, the soft color palette of ivory, grey, and blush complemented the old south feel of Lowndes Grove Plantation to achieve the look that suited them perfectly. The beautiful architecture and design of the antebellum mansion didn't require much embellishment. There were crab claws and oysters at sunset, a string trio overlooking the water, and a long boardwalk reaching out to the horizon.
The hanging bed under a chandelier was a favorite focal point that was actually chosen by the groom to complete the relaxed, yet elegant vibe the couple wanted. Everything turned out just right. The bride did such an exceptional job planning and designing her wedding day, that she has since gone on to launch her own event design company, Kellie Ryan Designs!
