From Modern Vintage Events... Yes. Marriage starts with a question and an answer, and the answer to that questions is "Yes." It doesn't end there, the first yes is a predecessor for the multitude of times in the course of a marriage that a husband and wife will have to say yes. Yes to richer, yes to poorer, yes to sickness, yes to health, yes to better, yes to worse. Yes to standing beside each other until death with the knowledge that neither of you have any idea what the future holds but no matter what, you will say "yes" to doing it together.

With this shoot we really wanted to get down to the grass roots of what marriage is all about. Weddings are amazing and details are so fun, but details do not a successful marriage make. We wanted to showcase two people and their love for each other. We used a couple friends of ours who were married but who got married at a courthouse and never had official wedding photos. They also happened to tell us that day that they were saying "yes" to learning that three is a magic number and were expecting their first baby.

We featured a burlap banner with "yes" printed on it and a pallet that simply said "she said yes." We also strung vintage photos of couples on another pallet to serve as a reminder of those who have said yes continuously through their marriage. We set up a small picnic "celebration".
