From the Bride… The reason we chose to elope rather than plan a big white wedding was because we both realized that we wanted to avoid all the stress and expectation that comes with not only planning a wedding but executing one as well! The morning of the wedding we tried to stay as calm and worry-free as possible! We took some friends and family out for an early lunch and then all gathered up in Austin for the Friday evening ceremony. Although broken cell phones, lots of traffic, and scattered thunderstorm tried to sway our moods, Chris and I were so focused on each other that nothing was going to spoil the day for us. Our intimate ceremony at Laguna Gloria was everything that we had hoped for. As Chris and I walked around the lagoon to the ceremony we remembered all of the amazing moments we had together leading to this moment. As left over rain drops fell from the trees our officiant and best friend Ryan Reed gave us words of love and encouragement. Being able to say our own vows to each other was by far highlight of the day for us. Once we said our “I do’s” and took some great pictures we headed back to the house to fire up the brick oven and make some homemade pizzas with a few friends and family who were a part of the day. We spent the rest of the night laughing, dancing, singing, cooking and eating and could not have asked for a better ending to our day.
All of the pasta, sauces, cupcakes and snacks were all made by Chris and myself the day before the ceremony. Although the flowers themselves were from Central Market, the mason jars and boxes they were all in were done by me.
