Santa Barbara Wedding at El Paseo Restaurant
I love the idea that these two cuties tied the knot in a place that has such incredible meaning to the both of them. A city where they spent many a days leisurely walking about... and a restaurant that they brunched at on many, many occasions. Even better? From the Bride... Our wedding evolved into an absolute dream that was created and perfected during our year and a half engagement. I scoured photographer's blogs for beautiful pictures and stalked SMP (and every SMP Local Blog) daily for "inspiration." I will never be able to thank Brandi (of High Society) and Fayaz (of Bloom Box Designs) enough for making my dreams a reality. Brandi's ability to make things happen combined with Fayaz's unbelievable taste and talent ensured our wedding day was nothing short of perfection.
Colby and I met in Santa Barbara, CA right after I graduated from UC Santa Babara in the summer of 2007. We left Santa Barbara in the spring of 2008 when I got into medical school, but it is still, without a doubt, our most treasured city. There was never any doubt that's where we should get married. We had both spent many Sunday brunches enjoying the amazing ambiance of El Paseo Restaurant and had walked past the Sunken Gardens at the Courthouse more times than we could count. The choices were obvious!
The entire weekend was such a treat having our friends and family by our sides. My uncle was sworn in for the day and married us on the gorgeous steps at the Courthouse. One of our groomsman, Matt, performed a song he wrote for us for our first dance - there aren't words for how special it was to be physically and emotionally surrounded by everyone we love with Matt singing lyrics that were all about our love for one another (literally!).
All of our vendors were incredible and were at the top of their games on our wedding day! Everything went off without a hitch! I will never be able to thank our photographers and videographers enough for capturing the day so beautifully because at the end of the day - those pictures and videos are our keys to the reliving the memories of the best day of our lives!
