Classic Spring Wedding at Pan Pacific Perth
This, my friends, is a classic wedding done oh-so-right. The type of wedding where gorgeous fashion (hello beautiful Pallas Couture gown) meets beautiful blooms from Cherry Lane Flowers meets a stunning reception at Pan Pacific Perth. In other words, it's traditional perfection in every which way... and you can see it all captured by DeRay & Simcoe right here.
From the Bride... It is true what they say. Enjoy the wedding day because it goes so quickly!
Since I was a little girl, I never really dreamed about what my wedding day would be like. It may sound cliché but I was always so curious as to who I would choose as my life partner (or more importantly, who would choose me!), and whether our life together would be like what you see in fairy tales. But it is so funny how that changes when you actually have to start planning your wedding!
Looking back, I would like to think that the process for us was pretty relaxing. A lot of that had to do with how organised my mum was! I really didn't realise how much planning is actually involved in a wedding! We always knew that we would have a relatively big wedding and for us, the more the merrier. Our Croatian heritage is very important to the both of us, so there was never any doubt that we would be married in the Croatian church that Luka has been going to since he was a little boy. And we were married by the Priest that also christened Luka. So that really made the day even more special for us. We were also lucky enough to have family and friends travel from interstate and overseas to share our day with us.
I wanted to keep things simple, yet elegant. I love white and neutral tones, so I guess if there was a theme for the wedding, that would be it. The bridesmaids were dressed in beautiful blush gowns, and I was fortunate enough to have my dress made by the incredible Pallas Couture. I really felt like a princess on the day. We also wanted the wedding day to reflect us and our families. My grandparents made our bonbonniere for us - beautiful bottles of Croatian spirits that the guests were able to enjoy throughout the night. We also involved our parents in the wedding ceremony and I was so lucky to have my dad walk me down the aisle and give me away. That was definitely a moment I will never forget.
The best part of the day for us was sharing it with the people we love, and our bridal party was reflective of that. All of our brothers and sisters stood by our side on the day, along with my beautiful cousin Jessica and my best friend Emily. We wouldn't have had it any other way. We had such an incredible day and I wouldn't have changed a thing, other than perhaps not crying with my head down as I walked down the aisle! I will always blame my dad for that, as the look in his eyes when he lead me down the aisle definitely set me off!
The wedding day is obviously an incredibly important day in your life, but for me, I am even more excited to see what the future holds for Luka and me!
From DeRay & Simcoe... The sun was shining down and the grass was green, it was a gorgeous spring day in Perth. The kind of weather that fills your heart with warmth; the perfect day for Louise and Luka's wedding.
They both wanted to honour their Croatian heritage so they chose a traditional Catholic ceremony at St Anne's in North Fremantle followed by a lavish reception for 200 guests at the Pan Pacific in the CBD of Perth.
Luka has five brothers and sisters very close in age and they were all in the bridal party along with Louise's two younger brothers. It was a real family affair. Luka's best man was his cousin Ivan, they grew up together.
Louise's Mum Lidia was instrumental in putting together such a large wedding with such elegance.
Louise's stunning Pallas gown featured hand beading on the bodice and a long delicate veil complemented by the dusky pink bridesmaids' dresses.
The photo locations included the classic architecture of Fremantle and then onto King's Park in the city. The wildflowers were in full bloom including iconic red kangaroo paws.
Louise and Luka are so in love and easy to photograph, beautiful people inside and out.
