Melbourne Wedding at Gardens House + Comme
This wedding is soooo awesome. Like in that crazy gorgeous garden ceremony meets seriously sophisticated reception way. It's romantic blooms from Pollon Flowers meets insanely chic bridesmaid frocks from Review meets one stunning moment after another captured by Adrian Tuazon... and it's all sitting pretty right here, right now in the full gallery. Enjoy, lovelies.
From the Groom... We wanted a classic, timeless wedding that really represented us and all the things we love. We didn’t really have a theme but most aspects followed a green, pink and cream colour scheme. May is sentimental to us, Jenna’s parents were married in May, and so were many other family friends who have now been happily married for over 30 years, it’s a lucky month.
We chose Comme as we wanted a venue that had great food and wine and was located in the city.
We chose Gardens House as we didn’t want a church service, but wanted a venue where there was a wet weather option. We thought being May we need a back up option but we were very lucky and were graced with clear blue skies and a 23 degree day!
Gardens House is beautiful and we loved that the Gardens surrounding it were private and secluded, it made it very intimate.
The most important aspect of our wedding day was food, wine and, most of all, fun. We wanted our guests to walk away at the end of the night having had a really awesome day and night.
We got our very few formalities out the way quickly so our guests could spend the rest of the evening dancing and socialising.
Our favorite moment of the day was when the formalities had finished at the ceremony, and we greeted our loved ones and family after the most important day of our lives; it was really special and overwhelming.
For the rest of the day we couldn’t wipe the smiles off our faces, we loved every minute.
We only had a small wedding of about 70 guests, so it was easy to spend a lot of time together, but also plenty of time dancing and chatting with guests.
Our advice to engaged couples is: do what you love. Everything we chose, we chose because we loved it. We didn’t do anything we didn’t want just because it was tradition and as a result it was the best day ever. Take a moment, just the two of you at a certain part of the night or day, escape somewhere and spend a moment to take it all in. That was some of the best advice I received and we did it before we hopped in the car to our reception venue with the sun coming down looking at my lovely bride.
We found the whole thing very overwhelming at first! But slowly slowly we just went a long and really thought about what we wanted and what we loved. We didn’t get too worried about the finer details and let my vendors worry about that. After all they are the experts and they know what works.
Comme were absolutely amazing, their service was fantastic and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. We actually forgot to arrange a few small details and they took care of all of that for us on the day without us even knowing. We are very grateful for that.
