Hello Pretty Brides! Devon of Devon Rachel here today to discuss my personal favorite part of this wedding planning process: the gown. Oh, the gown. This part of the planning excites me to no end. Every girl wants to play dress up in a too-beautiful-for-real-life boutique. If you’re anything like me, you might occasionally have a Beyoncé in the wedding gown moment. Have no shame, girl. It’s your big day!
Because there are endless options for wedding day looks, I set out to BHLDN’s Beverly Hills shop-in-shop within Anthropologie to try out four (completely) different styles. And let me tell you: it was Heaven on Earth.
As self-proclaimed fashionista, I respect and admire all styles and types of wedding gowns and fashion. How could you not love all the beauty? I have to say I’m bohemian at heart, but I have a love for girly glam and classic styles as well. So I decided to play dress up in four head to toe (completely different) looks from BHLDN: Modern, Bohemian, Old World Glamour, and Classic inspired by iconic brides. Let the games begin!

The Modern Bride
The modern bride isn’t afraid to break tradition with fresh silhouettes, non-traditional colors and bold details paired with clean lines. She’s fashion-forward and is after a unique wedding gown that she may even be able to wear again. The Skylar Sheath short dress is perfect for the modern bride.

The Bohemian Bride
Breezy silhouettes with lots of texture define the Boho bride’s natural and carefree attitude. She wants to feel comfortable, not “overdone” but luxurious fabrics and special details like lace, embroidery or subtle beading elevate her look for her wedding day. She would complete the look with Bohemian jewelry and/or a flower crown. The Sian Gown and Regnant Halo headpiece make a fabulous pair.

The Old World Glamour Bride
Inspired by a bygone era, look for bold, feminine silhouettes and body-hugging column wedding gowns that cascade over curves. And plenty of glitz – whether you go for allover sparkle or graphic, Art Deco-inspired placed stonework. Think Gatsby. The Snowflake gown with delicate vintage earrings will complete the glamorous look.

The Classic Icon Bride
Drawing inspiration from iconic brides like Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly, look for timeless shapes like column wedding gowns or A-line wedding gowns with exquisite tailoring and feminine touches. A wedding gown with sleeves, whether full-length, or a slightly off the shoulder, is always sophisticated and elegant. The Blythe gown, paired with a short and sweet blusher veil, vintage inspired bracelet and delicate earrings really bring the Audrey Hepburn look to life.
