Washington Winter Wedding at Monte Cristo Ballroom

I gushed about my love affair with winter weddings on SMP yesterday, but I probably should have just used this ballroom beauty from Blue Rose Photography as the perfect example of why winter weddings will always win in my book. It’s the epitome of cozy chic, and there is so much more waiting for you here.

From Blue Rose PhotographyAndrew and Emily met their freshman year in college at Western Washington University. She met him on move in day and he and his friend helped her move her stuff up to the third floor, she new she liked him right away. Andrew had a crush on her as well but was too nervous to ask her out until finally at the end of their junior year he did just that, and the rest was history. After a year and a half of dating he proposed to her. They had won a trip to Hawaii during a charity auction and Andrew decided this would be the perfect time to ask Emily to be his wife. So he waited until the end of their trip and after a walk at sunset on the beach he got down on one knee and changed both of their lives forever. They decided to get married at Everett Washington’s Monte Cristo Ballroom. Influenced by the Italian Renaissance, the Historic Monte Cristo Ballroom (built in 1865) is detailed from the terrazzo floor, a stained glass skylight, Corinthian capitals, and the Dorian frieze work. Their Jan 18th winter wedding was gold and navy with classical decor. The ceremony aisle was lined with candles and white rose pedals. Emily wore a classical lace mermaid gown and Andrew wore a suit by Calvin Klein. Their friend made a variety of gourmet cupcakes including salted caramel, chocolate chip, and vanilla (they were some of the best cupcakes Ive ever had).
