I love how this Bride describes her day as magic, and then says if anything did go wrong, she wouldn’t notice because she was in such bliss. To me, that’s how every Bride should feel on her wedding day, and it’s no surprise that’s how she felt after looking at these gorgeous images from Ryan and Denise. It’s image after image of pure wedding magic, and you can see it all right here.
From the Bride…Five years ago a boy named Josh met a girl named Nikki… We met at the Westin Kierland Resort where we both worked at the time. We actually worked together for almost a year before ever really noticing each other! One winter day one of our mutual friends had a get together at his house. We both went and were instantly drawn to each other. We were inseparable from that night on.
Fast forward to 4 years later.. The proposal, September 28th, 2012. Josh planned a weekend at the Phoenician Resort which is our special spot. We go there for every birthday & anniversary. We got to the resort on the early side, and the room was actually ready! After opening the door to our room, I noticed that it was covered with my favorite flowers, bride magazines and a bottle of champagne with special engraved glasses. It was then that I started crying when I realized what was happening. I turned around to see Josh down on one knee asking for my hand in marriage! Of course I said yes :) Josh had enlisted the help of my mom to decorate the room so it was ready and decorated when we walked in, which made it even more special (this involved many calls to the Phoenician to have them make an exception to allow my mom check into our room before we did) We spent the rest of the weekend celebrating! It was perfect.
Our wedding day was magical, as I like to call it. Everything turned out perfect, and if something did go wrong, we were in such bliss, we didn’t even notice. We wanted a simple, elegant, romantic wedding. Our colors were primarily blush and champagne with some other hints of light pinks and ivory’s. All very warm and neutral colors. We only had 50 people at the wedding as we wanted it to be an intimate setting with just very close friends and family. The fact that we had a small wedding was so important to us so it would have an intimate feel and we would be able to spend time with each of our guests.
The venue we chose was the FireSky Resort which is such a beautiful property. We got married outside at their little lagoon, which is so lush with plants and flowers in itself, we really didn’t need to over compensate with too much of our own decor. We had soft gold chiavari chairs that were draped with beautiful flower arrangements at the end of the rows. Pale pink and ivory rose petals were scattered down the aisle which lead to two large flower arrangements that were dripping in crystals.
The decor for the reception continued with the same romantic feel as the ceremony. There were flower arrangements throughout the tables that were accompanied by soft gold and crystal votive’s that tied in with the crystals dripping from the two main arrangements that were next to the head table. Ivory lines were draped over the tables and gold charger plates were topped with pale pink napkin linens.
The room was up-light with pale pink lighting which combined with the glowing of the candles and the sparkling of the crystals made the rooms atmosphere so romantic and magical. The decor, flowers, etc were breathtaking, but having all of our family and loved ones together at the same time to celebrate us becoming husband and wife was the best part.
I wore an ivory, lace, mermaid style dress that was embellished with pearls and rhinestones through out with a sweetheart neckline. It was a very classic & traditional dress which was exactly what I wanted. I wanted to stay with the “less is more” simple approach for my accessories as I didn’t want to take away from the beauty of the dress. I wore Swarovski crystal chandelier earrings and two simple crystal/pearl bracelets. My hair was down with loose curls and slightly pinned back with a small pearl/rhinestone clip/bobby pin. The veil was medium length and lined with rhinestones and pearls to go along with the dress and accessories.
Josh wore a black Vera Wang traditional looking tux with an ivory shirt, black vest and black tie. He had an ivory pocket square on one side and a single ivory rose and Calla Lily flower arrangement on the other side.
We didn’t have a full bridal party, just a maid of honor (my sister, Chanel) and a best man (Josh’s best friend, Cole.) Chanel’s dress was a short, one shoulder, blush pink dress with some ivory lace that proofed out a bit near the bottom. She wore blush rhinestone open toe pumps that accompanied the dress perfectly. She wore soft gold/crystal earring with bracelets that matched. Cole had a matching tux to Josh’s with blush pink pocket square to match Chanel’s dress and a slightly different flower arrangement pinned on.
We think that the whole wedding really represented us as a couple. We had a fabulous wedding planner that helped us A TON, but we still wanted a hands on approach so we were able to put our feel and touch on every single detail. We danced to our favorite song, Bless the broken road by Rascal Flatts. Their concert was one of our first dates.
I have so many favorite moments from the day! My mom walked me down the aisle to Josh which is a memory I will cherish forever. The fact that we both kept it together so well was a shock!
Seeing Josh for the first time all dressed up was also a favorite moment. He looked so handsome. We decided to go with the first look which was such a good idea. We were both so nervous and anxious but after seeing each other that first time, all of the nerves went away. Having my sister and Josh’s best friend standing up there with us was so special as they have both seen our relationship unfold from the beginning. Of course the moment the pastor pronounced us Husband and wife and that first kiss as a married couple. I could go on and on, the whole day was my favorite moment.
