Romantic + Light Maples Hall Wedding

Today is the best day, and it’s all thanks to this super pretty wedding. I mean really. It’s kind of unfair how beautiful Loft Photographie’s images of the are. I’m totally jealous that they were there to capture it all. With every detail so obviously made with love, this is the kind of wedding that warms hearts, loves.

You most definitely don’t want to miss this video from Stringer Productions!

From the bride…It’s really hard to articulate exactly what my inspiration for the wedding was—I suppose it was mostly a collection of all of the things and colors that I find beautiful. I knew the day would be hot (as most days in Texas during the summer are), so I wanted the feeling of the wedding to be light, happy, and soft with romantic colors and flowy fabrics.

Anyone who knows me can tell you that I’m a vintage fanatic—if it can be antique, I’m interested! I just love imagining the stories and history behind all of those old things. My mom and I fancy ourselves DIY-ers, so the wedding was the perfect excuse to spend hours on Pinterest and wedding blogs to find inspiration to make all kinds of fun things.

A lot of the details of the wedding were made or assembled by my family and me, which was probably a lot more work but so much more fun. I don’t even know how many hours we all spent together cutting out program fans or designing the invitations, but I wouldn’t trade that time for anything. Almost everyone in my family had a hand in some aspect of the wedding, which just made it even more meaningful.

Neither Jordan nor I are from the Dallas area, so we had a lot of family and friends coming in from all over the country (and even some from out of the country). We wanted the entire day to be a huge celebration where people could feel comfortable to mingle and have fun. Our goal was for the wedding to show everyone we love just how thankful we were that they made the effort to come to witness our commitment and celebrate with us.

One of my favorite moments of the night was the definitely impromptu dance party in the street—we had one of the side streets blocked off for more seating and for people to play with our corn-hole boards, but it turned out to be the perfect area for dancing! The sun was beginning to set, and the temperature outside was perfect; the music came on, and before I knew it, all of our friends were outside dancing with us.

I think the thing that was most important for Jordan and me was the photography; it doesn’t really matter how beautiful your decorations are if you don’t have great photographers to capture it all for you. You can spend hours agonizing over things like the color of your paper straws or the flavor of your wedding cake, but when the wedding’s over, you probably won’t remember that you even had paper straws or how the cake tasted. Everything happens so much more quickly than you can imagine, and having wonderful photographers can help you to relax as much as possible and simply enjoy your special day. We couldn’t be happier with the way that Abbey and Andrea documented our wedding—all of the pictures are so beautiful and more than we could have asked for!
