From the Bride...Our best man Josh Rose introduced us in 2010. I went to HS with Josh and Nick has known Josh since he was 9. From the beginning we knew that family and fun were the most important components of our wedding. We both live in San Francisco, but chose to have our wedding at Villa Montalvo near my hometown of Los Gatos. We knew we wanted a vintage theme and I suggested a Great Gatsby vibe. We chose black, gold and white since they are such classic colors and added feathers to go with the 1920's décor.
My favorite moment of our wedding was when the last song came on. It was "Last Night on Earth" by Green Day and its one of our favorites. I saw Nick clawing through the crowd trying to find me for a last spin and he yelled out "where's my wife??" It was the first time I had heard him use the phrase and I had to smile. All of the guests came together for the song and it was such a wonderful feeling having so much support for us on that special day.
If I could offer any advice, I'd say: sit back and really enjoy all that you worked so hard for. All those months of planning and running around like a crazy person really does pay off. I had a few moments were I almost went nuts but luckily I was surrounded by a few recent brides and they kept me grounded. I reminded myself that this day was about us. It wasn't the décor, music or food and that thought made all stress sort of melt away.
