New York City Engagement Session

Bow ties and adorable puppies: two things I absolutely never grow tired of.  And this darling NYC engagement session from Cynthia Chung?  Well, it happens to feature BOTH of the aforementioned, along with a bride and groom-to-be who seriously couldn’t be cuter if they tried.  It’s the world’s most fabulous city meets all kinds of love-filled moments and you can see them all in the full gallery.

From Cynthia Chung Weddings… It was really perfect how well their outfits translated to the nautical, 1920’s vintage-esque feel of the South Street Seaport area. Henny’s (the bride-to-be) elegant and soft dress matched so well with Justin’s blazer and bow tie. It was delightful to photograph such a well dressed and cute couple!

From the Bride… Justin and I wanted our shoot at South Street Seaport to exude a sense of casual elegance, while our shoot at Kissena Park was meant to convey a more relaxed casualness. We tried to pick outfits that would translate well at those locations while maintaining a cohesive theme for each shoot.

Our photographer, Cynthia, did a great job capturing the way the wind caught my dress, and she timed our shoot at Kissena Park perfectly so that it would take place as the sun set. She captured all these small details that added a bit of romance to every shot.

I was a bit skeptical when Cynthia recommended Kissena Park as one of our locations because both Justin and I grew up near that park, and we would have never thought of it as an engagement shoot location. However, we love how the photos came out and the fact that we got to shoot at a place so close to home made it all that more special.
