Picnic-Style Rehearsal Dinner
Rehearsal dinners are kind of like the calm before the (big, beautiful) storm. They're a chance to celebrate on a more intimate level, which is exactly why The Southern Table, Splendor Films and Ben Q. set out to inspire brides everywhere. With a picnic-style dinner plus perfectly planned details for as far as the eye can see, there's no reason not to stop and swoon every last bit.
From The Southern Table... Warm, golden hues to welcome fall were the inspiration for the floral accents to this Rehearsal Dinner. Touches of peach from dahlias, garden roses, and fresh apricots contrast against the darker elements of the geranium, gold amaranthus, and artichokes. Pops of orange from the ranunculus, rosehip, and safflower provide rich color and depth. We used vintage amber glass helped create a comfortable, yet elegant atmosphere, perfect for fall celebrations. Mixing in wooden elements, like the menu sign on a wood slice and placecards painted gold, help keep the event relaxed. We loved the overall effect of these combinations of color and texture, a Rehearsal Dinner truly Southern styled!
From Ben Q. Photography... Sometimes I think rehearsal dinners get overlooked so we wanted to do an inspiration shoot to show off the potential to incorporate gorgeous floral and beautifully styled food. Most of our couples really love the outdoor sun-kissed look so we shot at golden hour at one of our favorite new venues, 3825 S. Bowen in Arlington. This shoot was shot entirely in film because we love the colors and beautiful, authentic grain. Shag Rentals provided a rustic farm table for the couple and their wedding party to sit comfortably at. The "almost-weds" had special floral made by The Southern Table including a lush bouquet and matching boutonniere.
The tablescape included warm colored arrangements in amber glass and since the theme was a natural feel fresh apricots and artichokes were part of the decor. The party was served a late summer menu by Oliver's Fine Foods of grilled rosemary chicken with fresh blackberries, grilled asparagus, green salad with avocados and flaked fish and roasted potatoes. Tracy Melton made each girl including the guest of honor look incredible and the behind the scene video by Splendor Films is a must-see!
