With just nine guests to bear witness, this wedding is the epitome of intimate. But more than that it’s a celebration of love fashioned to perfection by Holly Chapple Flowers, Events In The City and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. They made certain Lauren and Kevin’s day was every bit as thoughtful as a traditional affair, and you can watch the whole story unfold in the gallery from Abby Jiu right here.
From Laura Ritchie of Events in the City… I had the honor of designing a gorgeous and unique wedding of only nine people. Lauren and Kevin decided to share their special day with only immediate family at The Goodstone Inn in Middleburg, Virginia. A historical inn situated in Virginia horse country on two hundred acres. Abby Jiu captured the entire night, starting with the ceremony held in front of an ivy covered stone façade, which was the original house from the 1930’s on the property. The ceremony was serenaded by a cellist and violinist as the guests looked on. After the ceremony ended guests were greeted with glasses of champagne and escorted down a grass pathway behind the carriage house for the reception.
Guests were then treated to a candlelit dinner on the stone patio, which was overflowing with dahlias from Holly Chapple Flowers. Events in the City sourced décor from multiple vendors to create this unique look, some of which included Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and DC Rental. The look was a perfect mix of a traditional wedding however it boasted tons of textures and creative layers of special touches to really make it look lux. From the unique combination of chairs to the layers of antique chargers on the table, we really strived to not miss one detail. Luckily with only nine guests total, it was a joy to really get into the experience for each attendant and make sure it was immaculate.
The five course dinner hosted by The Goodstone Inn’s highly rated French restaurant onsite was a huge factor during the night. Guests noshed on the creative menu personally picked by the bride and groom. Laughter, great conversation and the string duets music was a great reminder of really what a wedding is all about. The joining of two lives and the happiness of a family growing. The union of this couple witnessed by such an important and intimate group and it really was an affair to remember.
