Runway Romance Engagement Session
I'm married to a pilot and I'm 100% sure that no matter how hard I begged, we couldn't get engagement pictures this cool. These two must have some pretty amazing connections to have Josh Dookhie Photography shoot their engagement sesh on the runway. I'm totally jealous.
From the bride... A day-to-dusk exclusive engagement session on the runway of Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport, featuring shots of the charming old terminal before it was torn down.
Not only do we love to travel, but my husband Nevin and I met at the airport when we both worked there, so it was only fitting that it was the setting for our engagement session. I used to work there in Marketing during the time that the new terminal building was being constructed. Nevin still works there as an airfield electrician. That's how we got access to the runways- an opportunity almost no one else would be able to have! Nevin's father was also an air traffic controller until he retired, so overall the airport is a special place to us and our family.
At the time that we did the photoshoot, the new terminal had just opened (which provided a gorgeous backdrop) and the old terminal- where we had met - was being torn down in a couple of weeks. It was so special for us to be able to get shots featuring both buildings- our past and our future!
