In case you’re just joining us this morning, today is our unofficial “SMP hearts Jessica (photographer) and Jacin (planner + designer) day.” A day where we get to swoon the work of this crazy talented twosome with features from morning til’ night. And next up? Classic wine country nuptials that’ll surely steal your heart. See SO much more right here.
From the Bride… Peter and I both grew up in California, currently live in the East Bay and have always loved short weekend getaways to wine country. Once engaged, we knew a wine country wedding would be a dream. We searched all over Sonoma, Healdsburg, Napa and beyond until our wedding planner, Jacin of Lovely Little Details suggested we check out Charles Krug Winery in St. Helena. The venue at Charles Krug was perfect for us. Situated off highway 29, the Carriage house sits behind redwood trees and directly in front of the Zinfandel vineyard. The location afforded a gorgeous ceremony backdrop, relaxed cocktail hour outside and dinner & dancing inside on the magnificent second floor of the Carriage house. The wine at Charles Krug is fantastic and everyone there was a joy to work with, it’s a place we will always come back to visit.
Our goal was to plan a wedding that would be a classic event, yet still an unforgettable party. Jacin truly helped us bring that vision to life, through our simple black & white color scheme, stunning floral arrangements & garlands, to the fun glittery sequin tablecloths and coupe champagne glasses, every detail was thought through.
Aside from the venue, the most important parts of the wedding to us were photography, food & dancing. We fell in love with our photographer Jessica Burke and feel incredibly lucky that she was there to capture the day for us. Her images are stunning, highlighting moments & details we were too crazed to see on the day of. Plus she was so fun to be around! Her photographs are treasured possessions that we will look back on forever.
Our caterer, Culinary Eye was also recommended by our planner Jacin. John & Collins, the duo behind Culinary Eye were an absolute blast. They created a menu filled with amazing food that our guests are still talking about. Pete was never a desert fan but loves ice cream, so Culinary Eye made brown sugar bacon ice cream & oatmeal cookie sandwiches to go along with our espresso shot/donut desert for the dance floor. That was a hit! We had been to another wedding DJ’d by Boutique DJs and knew we had to use them again for our own wedding. Josh Olds of Boutique was amazing. He set the perfect ambiance during dinner and kept everyone on the dance floor until the end of the night. Just what we wanted!
We had such a great time at our wedding and absolutely loved our team of vendors. A good friend gave us some advice and said to hire people you would want to be friends with, which couldn’t be more accurate. They all helped us create a perfect, unforgettable day to celebrate with our family and closest friends.
