London Winter Inspiration at Castle Gibson’s MC Motors

Romantic, elegant and beautifully captured by Natasha Hurley, this winter shoot at Castle Gibson looks like it could come straight out of a fairytale. We can thank Heyday Events for the stunning styling, stationery and florals, and after looking at this gorgeous gallery, you’ll see we have a lot of thanking to do. See every pretty moment here.

From Natasha HurleyThe styled shoot – “Forgotten Fairytale in Winter” – captures a faded elegance, featuring a Vera Wang princess gown with dusty pink Ecuadorian roses & white anemones, miniature bronze bells, hand drawn calligraphy stationery, simple white and floral cake, Burberry suit all set against faded wallpaper, old iron fireplaces, classical antique furniture and beautiful candelabras at Castle Gibson’s MC Motors in London.

We wanted to encapsulate the softness and sparkle of this season. Finding a freshness and new beauty in tradition, with the aim to inspire Brides to look at the exquisiteness of Winter as it moves into Spring! Akin to the freshness of winter and the new beginnings of the changing season – the happy couple start a new life together. As echoed by the Victor Hugo’s quote on the invitations – ‘Winter is on my head but Spring is in my heart” – despite the chill of the winter the happy couple’s hearts are uplifted and filled with the sentiment of spring as they begin a new journey together.

The seasonal favours of antique bells allowed guests to join in the fairytale and create the magical tinkle of “a thousand tiny bells” in celebration of the union of the happy couple. The stationary suite incorporated the beauty of hand-lettered calligraphy and watercolour seasonal wreath. The semi-transparent paper for place-settings added a sense of the season, reminiscent of frosty mornings and misty window pains. And the faded pink and gold colour scheme with textures and colours was inspired by Vera Wang’s brand new pink Wedding Dress Collection. For the groom, clean black Burberry Jacket and skinny trousers completed the look.

The morning winter sun was the perfect accompaniment to this shoot, the light danced off our beautiful couple and the mirrored room, adding a luminosity & dream-like quality. The nude make up, delicate crystal necklace and dicky bow remind us of an era of true romanticism – we couldn’t help but fall in love!
