From the photographer… This shoot was inspired by the glitter and fun of a retro New Years Eve party. I wanted to shoot a classic dinner table set up outdoors with a beautiful gold tinsel backdrop for a photo-booth feel. Many of the gold elements have a retro feel with a twist- like the cake design. This table and backdrop could easily be duplicated for a New Years Eve celebration or winter themed wedding. In my research for this shoot, I noticed a lot of winter events using cranberries in the decor so I had fun incorporating that into the ice bucket for the champaign and the cake decor.

A couple of my favorite elements are the custom stationery designs with hand-done calligraphy, as well as the flakey glitter you will see all over this shoot! The glitter added such a tactile movement to the images that I feel really makes them POP.

From head to toe this inspiration shoot was styled and executed with intentionality down to the very smallest detail. Even the dresses and makeup looks were picked with the retro/vintage theme. I have included the recipes used for the desserts and the DIY guide I used to assemble my own party poppers which are super cute and fun for any holiday party.

I had SO much fun putting this together, styling, but most of all shooting it! The models for this shoot are good friends of mine and I just love the emotion in the photos! I have included the recipe for the cheesecakes and the DIY party popper instructions I used to make the poppers which are so easy and festive!
