With New Year’s Eve just one day away (can you believe it?!?), we thought we’d start the festivities a little early and spend our day gazing at this work of art, aka, a drop-dead gorgeous Los Angeles engagement session totally worthy of a NYE celebration. It’s a crazy stylish duo (think ball gowns and black bow ties) meets some seriously amazing images from David & Drexelle of D Park Photography meets all kinds of pretty. John Paul & Brianna’s love story began almost 10 years ago as high school sweethearts and it may sound cliche, but they are more in love than ever. The wedding process for these two began untraditionally– there was no ring, and no proposal, but there was a venue — such a typical Bri move, but JP was totally a part of the scheming this time around!! The two went to look at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science on a whim while visiting family for the holidays in Dallas, Texas and from that moment on the papers were signed and the planning process began! All the while Brianna’s dream engagement ring, which is a whole story in and of itself, was being designed with the help of Carter Maloof, an incredible jeweler in Dallas, Texas!
There were a few things that JP & Brianna always knew they wanted when it came to their wedding. First & foremost, a ceremony that revolved around their love for the Lord– which is the sole reason their relationship is as strong as it is today. Secondly, these two were looking for a day to have a black tie celebration with yummy food, champagne & a dance floor full of their family and friends whose importance in their life goes beyond words and thus, New Year’s Eve 2013 was chosen!
And what black tie affair is complete without a fancy engagement photo shoot with one of the best photographers in Los Angeles, David and Drexelle of D Park Photography!! JP & Brianna wanted to set the tone for their guests — fancy tuxes, beautiful gowns, & of course love and commitement, so they called Drexelle & David with a vision & did they ever exceed the happy couple’s expectations!
Brianna & JP had the easy part, they just had to pick out attire & then let David & Drexelle work their magic. Brianna chose to wear a stunning gown by Aidan Mattox which she couldn’t have felt like more of a princess in. With just the right amount of sparkle and timeless elegance, this gown was all that she imagined for an engagement shoot with the love of her life who looked completely dapper in a tux from an incredible and modern company called The Black Tux. The Black Tux made it so simple for JP to look put together and handsome in a fitted tux that he was able to rent and return with ease– in fact, it was so easy and looked so great, the two are planning to use The Black Tux to outfit the groomsmen come this NYE!
For the location, David & Drexelle used DTLA to capture the modern, fancy, yet classic tone that the Noland wedding will encompass on December 31st, 2013! From the Walt Disney Concert Hall, to the famous Inception building, to beautiful shots in the middle of the street, Drexelle & David went above and beyond to not only capture JP & Brianna love story, but their dream engagement shoot.
