Oaks At Salem Wedding

Even though the world is knee-deep in last-minute holiday hustle and bustle, here at SMP Mid-Atlantic, we are at a complete and total standstill.  That's because this gorgeous gem of a day is the kind of breathtaking affair that really makes you stop and take notice; a day that is overflowing with DIY details, lush blooms from Tre Bella and a whole lot of amazing imagery from the talented Almond Leaf Studios. From the Bride... We envisioned our wedding to be romantic and whimsical with a touch of southern vintage charm. (Well, Coby just wanted me to be happy.) We came across so many beautiful images, so we picked from pictures and started on our long list of DIY. From ceremony decor, the large wooden doors, and planters that my husband made, table runners, wedding signs, hand-painted nesting tables, to added DIY to our invitations. We made sure to infuse the decor as well as menu with the southern charm we have loved our entire life. From ivory burlap table runners to North Carolina Shrimp and Grits, spiced sweet potato cake and sweet tea. The weather was not quite what we envisioned, but the mist created an ethereal glow making it all the more magical, and the candlelight was extraordinary. One of our fondest memories was sitting at our sweetheart table taking in the warm glow of the faces of our loved ones around us, our hearts were overfilled with joy taking it all in. The night was a whirlwind of laughs, tears of joy, and celebration. Our long list of personal touches and DIY paid off, the end product was just as beautiful and breathtaking as we hoped for and could not be more delighted with the memories we will cherish for a lifetime.
