So this wedding is pretty much my favorite. First of all, it took place in January, and winter weddings are tops in my book. Secondly, the whole day was covered in ivory and gold… which just so happen to be my favorite colors. And finally, the night ended with a Chinese Sky Lanterns release. Based on the gorgeous images from Jeff Sampson Photography, the bride has got to be my soul sister.
This gorgeous film from AJ Production Company is just a cherry on the beautiful cake.

From the beautiful bride… Blake and I met through my best friend, Kaitlyn. We had known of each since high school but we never actually dated until after college. We hit it off immediately and were pretty much inseparable from the first date. We got engaged just over a year from our first date on top of the highest peak in South Dakota!
Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of walking down the aisle at St. Joseph’s Cathedral on my wedding day. Luckily for us, it had just been renovated and was more beautiful than ever. We didn’t even need to add extra flowers to pretty it up. We ended up choosing to get married in January. We knew it would be a cold day and we prayed there would be a fresh coating of snow on the ground. We got lucky again. It was the most perfect winter day we could have asked for. We are both very old fashioned people and there fore wanted a very classic, timeless wedding. Our colors were ivory and gold. I wanted it to be a sparkly winter affair. We added touches of glimmer wherever we could; from the bridesmaid dresses to the table numbers.
Since I am an event planner we didn’t choose to hire one. I was constantly scouring wedding blogs for ideas. We had such a great time planning and seeing every moment of our vision come together. We did so many fun projects to prepare for the day. We were so thankful to have so many friends and family to help us along the way. Our tables were covered in ivory linens and sprinkled with mercury votives and beautiful flower arrangements in ivory by Joyce Naber. We used all mercury glass for the center pieces. I had about 20 people on the look out for any they could snatch up! We used gold frames and glitter card stock to create our table numbers. We spray painted branches with gold to hang above our head table and our dance floor. For our guestbook we had guests sign corks. I plan on making something with all of them; I just haven’t decided what yet!
Our wedding day was beyond perfect and we couldn’t have imagined it any better! We danced the night away with all of our guests and we are still hearing what a fun night it was for everyone!
