Kenilworth Club Wedding

DIY weddings with a rustic vibe have my heart. They seem to get to the core of what weddings are all about, and this beauty at the Kenilworth Club is the perfect example. Sweet and intimate with sentimental details tucked in every image snapped by Ann & Kam Photography & Cinema this beauty is one fabulous way to end your work week. From Ann & Kam Photography & Cinema… Megan and Niko are two of the sweetest, most thoughtful people we have ever met. We were humbled and delighted to capture their wedding day, and we are so happy that two such nice, warm, and amazing people have found each other. On top of that, Megan and Niko’s wedding was beyond charming. We love shooting backyard weddings because you can really feel the warmth of a family when they are in their own home. Megan and Niko both got ready in Megan’s family’s home, and Megan gave Niko the most amazing gift of a journal that she started writing when they got engaged. The ceremony was held in a tent in their yard, and we shot all of their portraits in their beautiful space as well. Megan’s family put so much love into decorating their ceremony, from the custom signs, to the wildflower arrangements by Megan’s sister, to the beautiful pergola that they were married under.

Megan and Niko incorporated a “tying the knot” theme. This began with the save the dates, which included a piece of rope tied in a knot. During the ceremony, Megan and Niko actually tied a rope into a knot together. At the reception, the place settings included a thank you note with a delicate string tied into a knot holding it all together.

The reception at the Kenilworth Club was just charming beyond belief. The beautiful lighting by Elegant Event Lighting, and the personal touches like the polaroid guest book made it feel personal and intimate. Megan’s mom made the most amazing dessert table we have ever seen. She decorated hundreds of unique cookies that tied in Megan and Niko’s lives – including a drum set for Niko and yoga cookies for Megan! To top it off, Niko is an amazing musician, and took the stage to play drums at his own wedding. It was an amazing evening for a wonderful family.

From the Bride… Our ‘perfect wedding’ vision honestly included just each other and the people we love most. We wanted our wedding to feel very personal, earthy, rustic and simple.

The majority of our wedding was DIY. My father made the wooden platform we were married on. My sisters made all the signs and flower arrangements. My mother made the cookies and orchestrated the sweets table. The family prepared all the mason jar decor. Everything written from our ‘Save the Dates’ to our invitation, wedding programs, place cards, menus and welcome bag notes were designed and printed by us. Basically everything was DIY besides the centerpieces, bouquets and lighting at the reception. We are a creative bunch and had an absolute blast!

Our most memorable memory from the wedding were the moments leading up to seeing each other and then finally seeing each other :) Our first dance was to ”You Can Close Your Eyes” -Brooke Fraser Version (featuring William Fitzsimmons)

The appetizers were a mix of fun and fresh favorites including Mini Sliders, Mini Mushroom & Grilled Cheese Sandwiches and Veggie Spring Rolls. Our first course was a Watermelon and Feta Salad with Golden Beets. The three entrée choices were a Pan Seared Frenched Breast of Chicken,

Braised Beef Short Rib or Savory Buckwheat Crepes. To finish, we had wedding cake and a very extensive 18 foot long Sweets table!

We are incredibly thankful and lucky to have the unconditional love and support of our amazing family and friends. In strengthening who we are as individuals, they have helped build the beautiful love we have for one another. As we look back on the most extraordinary day of our lives we are overcome with gratitude. The memories we created with each other and the ones we love most will be cherished forever.
