Villa Sancti Di Bella Vista Wedding
I wish there were words to accurately describe just how amazing this beautiful Malibu wedding really is, but I fear that my complete and total awe of its beauty is preventing from finding them. Because this isn't just any Malibu wedding... it's a wedding boasting the expert stylings of Amber Gustafson, beyond beautiful blooms from Shawna Yamamoto and a whole lot of breathtaking images captured by Ian Grant. From Amber Gustafson... Aarti & Sukrant, both busy doctors in their residencies, wanted a unique wedding in the LA area. They brought me on right after they booked a private estate in Malibu and we started planning the intricate logistics of the day of having the ceremony & reception held in the same spot. Not an easy feat for a 300 person wedding where all rentals and catering are brought in and staged on the property!
The design for the Hindu ceremony maintained traditional Indian wedding colors (gold, red, and orange), but the mandap was more organic and fitting with the outdoor location than traditional wooden painted mandaps used in Indian weddings. Sukrant made his entrance in the colorful baraat parade on a large white horse with celebratory music, drums, and dancing family members. So festive!
After the ceremony and romantic photos on the beach, Aarti changed from her red ceremony sari to a beautiful coral sari as the ceremony site was transformed into the reception space. Rectangle tables were decorated with vivid fuschia and coral colored peonies and garden roses organically placed amongst twisted driftwood branches and candles. The guests enjoyed a delicious dinner and then had a fun dance party. After the last song was played for the evening, a beautiful same day edit was shown that included highlights from the parties that had taken place in the days leading up to the wedding.
