Sky Ridge Ranch Wedding

Montana weddings have this way of infusing the outdoors with elegance in the loveliest of fashions. But never have I seen a wedding combine raw beauty and romantic details quite like this. Think reclaimed antique doors and long rustic tables against the most stunning natural scenery you ever did see. Let’s pay a visit to the full gallery of Cluney Photo’s captures and don’t miss the film from Sure Shot Video to tie it all together.

From the Bride… Casey and I met in the summer of 2009 while traveling on a tour of Europe for college students and have been best friends and travel buddies ever since. As we planned our wedding, we knew we wanted to incorporate all the beautiful places we’ve traveled together since that was a big part of our story. We did long distance for awhile from Georgia and Montana so we thought we would add a little bit of the Northwest and the South to our wedding theme. We chose to get married at Sky Ridge Ranch in Ronan, MT with the beautiful Mission Mountains as the backdrop, where Casey is from. Our wedding had a lot of vintage and rustic chic decorations, with a backyard BBQ feel complete with a grill full of local Montana beef and a bonfire pit with a s’more making station.

When Casey proposed, he hung framed pictures of us on birch wood trees along a path depicting our whole timeline together. Our wedding venue had the exact same trees, so we were able to recreate the proposal by hanging some of the same photos used in the proposal for our guests to look at as they walked along a path that led them from the parking lot to the ceremony site.

After exiting the birch trees, guests walked through two antique doors connected to a large barn wood wall that Casey and his dad built out of scrap wood from one of the original barns on the Cable family ranch. The antique doors were the original doors on Casey’s grandmothers house. In addition to the entry door, we were able to make a lot of our other decorations which helped save on costs and gave our wedding the personal touch we were looking for. I painted all of the signs, windows, made name tags, and helped design the flower arrangements. Our dessert table was Georgia/Montana themed with a vanilla wedding cake with huckleberry filling, peach and huckleberry ice cream, with glass coke bottles on the table filled with fresh cotton. We also had lemon and raspberry macaroons for dessert to throw in a touch of Europe in the mix as well.
