Romantic Irish Vintage Shoot at Lisnavagh House

If you are looking for something that is packed to the gills with inspiration this morning, you’ve come to the right place. I could gush for hours over how lovely this shoot captured by In Love Photography is, but instead I simply must encourage you to set aside some time to really dive into this gallery. It’s chock full of pure prettiness designed by The Wedding Expert, and there is so much more waiting for you right here.

From The Wedding ExpertWhen my mail box pinged with a note from the wonderfully talented Belgium Artistic Photographer, Wim Vanhengel, asking me if I would be interested in working on a wedding shoot with him; I squealed!

It read ‘ I would like to create a Romantic, glamorous 1950s inspired Photo shoot at a very special venue. I want to channel Grace Kelly, would you like to part-take?’. Who could say no?!

Planning this shoot was amazing, but not without its challenges, namely the Irish weather! (It snowed relentlessly the days before and on the shoot… but didn’t stick!) We were blessed with an utterly amazing group of wedding vendors, who each worked tirelessly to help create this amazing shoot that really came together effortlessly on the day. Our idea was to keep everything simple, elegant and romantic. We also really wanted to include some uniquely Irish aspects and traditions, and when I came across this amazing 1950s Blue Lace Vintage Dress from Vintage Bride I knew we had found our wedding dress, as, many moons ago, traditionally, an Irish Bride wore blue on her wedding day. Teaming this with a stunning scallop edged lace veil from DePaor Designs, created a wonderfully romantic look for our bridal couple. Our dapper groom, dressed in greys & charcoals from Bond Brothers, complemented our gorgeous bride and of course brought some extra Irishness with his fabulously curly chestnut red hair!

Our colour palette of ‘shades & hues of the 50s’ allowed us to mix and match so many terrific colour combinations across our decor & details, which resulted in this wonderfully warm and exciting tablescape, that is, without a doubt set off beautifully by the amazing set of John Rocha Crockery from Cater Hire.

The stunning location, that is Lisnavagh House & Gardens, created an almost magical presence in each photo and the house itself seemed to delight in us being there. We are all delighted at having created this wonderfully romantic and elegant shoot with distinct hints of Ireland & Grace Kelly.
