Bristol, Rhode Island Wedding

Fridays are happy days in and of themselves. But when a Friday starts off with a Charlotte Jenks Lewis wedding, you know things are about to get really, really good. Case in point? This Rhode Island farm affair with a vintage flair and a kick of quirk. The gallery is jam packed with inspiration at every click and I DARE you not to fall in love from the very first look.

From the Bride… Joe and I looked high and low for the perfect venue, and when we found Mount Hope Farm in Bristol, RI we knew immediately that this is where we would be married. We were going for an effortless but elegant rustic vibe. I wanted the whole thing to feel relaxed and not over produced, despite all of the forethought and planning I put into every detail! Guests sat on wooden benches overlooking the water for the ceremony, then enjoyed the raw bar and sipped on custom cocktails in the log cabin. We lucked-out with the weather, and there was the most perfect view of the Mount Hope Bridge in the distance. You could even see all the way to Newport.

To make Joe happy, I tried to add in some quirkier design elements just for fun! All of our friends arrived at the venue via a bright yellow school bus! Joe kept referring to our beautiful tent as his “medieval tent”. And we had silly sunglasses for all the boys’ portraits.

The rest of the design elements I pulled from nature. The colors I chose for the bridesmaids’ dresses were reminiscent of the sunsets over the bay. The farm-style tables were decorated with a burlap runner and mason jars were filled with cattails and other local blooms. After sundown, we gathered around a roaring fire and capped off the night with sparklers. It was a celebration filled with fun and love, and surely a day I will never forget.

Add’l credits: The picture frames I used to frame the chalkboards were from various flea markets and the chalkboards were actually just black illustration board. My mother drew the wedding certificates and Charmaine did the calligraphy. The favors were chocolate dipped Oreos that I made.
