Truth be told, this one was hard for me. It took me a little longer to put together the boards for this post. Not because I wasn’t completely enamored, actually quite the opposite. I couldn’t choose between all the stunning images from Corliss Photography. The blooms from Paisley Petals Flower Studio, that stunningly rustic barn, every detail was vying for my affection, so I ended up spending a little extra time telling them all how much I loved them. That’s normal, right?
From the floral designer… We all squeezed this shoot in right smack in the middle of wedding season because in the Northwest, our window of decent weather for an outdoor shoot is limited. The results were well worth it- we all had a blast working together on this project!
The newly renovated barn on this working farm just 35 miles south of Seattle made for a perfect location for a a country wedding inspired photo shoot. Holcomb Weddings & Events bought together a dream team to execute the design concept of rustic elegance and soft romance. Light colors and metallic notes topped off with a little sparkle added to the barn’s history and charm. We decided to let the barn provide the rustic element while keeping the decor on the elegant side. When it all came together, the results were everything we hoped they would be!
Gorgeous craftsman tables from Seattle Farm Tables were adorned with elegant clear glass vases overflowing with a bounty of local, in-season blooms in lush arrangements designed by Paisley Petals Flower Studio. The tables were finished with the warm glow of mercury glass from The Meaningful Details, more Paisley Petals creations in small silver vases and handcrafted place cards by Itsy Belle. The rustic setting of the barn and farm were the perfect juxtaposition against the soft romance of the decor. The unpredictable weather that day made for some beautiful light, and the barn doors were opened to let it illuminate the setting. Outside the barn, tables were placed throughout the landscape to create an intimate feel. Each table-scape was slightly different from the next while maintaining the feeling of rustic romance.
Our Bride model’s gown from Something Blue Bridal Boutique was soft and feminine and sprinkled with sparkle from her jeweled sash to her matching headband. Her stunning green eyes were brought to life by makeup artist Korrine Claxon. The bride’s bouquet was a farm-fresh mix of dahlias, garden roses, astilbe, lismachia, scabiosa, queen anne’s lace, spray roses, oregano, pineapple mint, yarrow, maidenhair fern and vines finished with a luxe peach ric rac ribbon. The matching boutonniere used mostly herbs and textures to lend a more masculine vibe.
A simple ceremony was set up using benches from Seattle farm tables. The location at the top of the farm took full advantage of the sweeping views of the fields below. Our photographer was able to capture the last few outdoor images just as a thunderstorm began to roll through, which made for an exciting end of our day together!
We were thrilled to have Corliss Photography on board to beautifully capture the essence of what we had created. It’s always inspiring to work with such talented wedding professionals. We were all delighted to be a part of it! In our little Northwest corner of the country, we are surrounded by such kind, giving, collaborative professionals in all corners of the wedding industry. Putting together a shoot like this gives us a chance to flex our creative muscles, get to know each other a bit better, and put our talents to work to create something beautiful just for the fun of it!
