This Montana elopement from Jeremiah and Rachel Photography is officially in the running for one of my favorite weddings ever on SMP. I know that’s a big statement. But just take one look at the images below, and you’ll be arranging your top five list too. From the Bride… When we fell in love in Montana, we knew that Montana was the place we wanted to celebrate our marriage. We wanted something small and casual, so we decided on Great Northern Resort. We did our first look in a meadow and said our vows with the wonder of Glacier National Park. In typical Montana fashion, the sky gave way to a rainstorm. The rain, however did not do anything to dampen the spirit of the evening, and in fact made our reception dinner in a log-pole tent even cozier! The scene of the sun setting behind the mountains and passing clouds reflected the majesty of nature for which Big Sky Country is known.
Aside from focusing on Montana, we also wanted our reception to have a 1920’s feel. We spent weeks researching and perfecting old-style cocktail and RJ mixed up drinks for the entire party. Our caterer happened to collect antique cookbooks and served up a meal of hors d’oeuvres from the era. We spent the night enjoying wonderful food and drinks with our family.
The night turned out to be even more amazing than we ever could have imagined. We had intended to elope, but realized at the last minute that we wanted to celebrate with out loved ones as well. The night ended with us sharing one last drink by ourselves in the candlelit tent, enjoying our first moments as husband and wife in the cool, Montana summer night.
