Hey there, pretty brides! Devon Rachel here for another post in my Devon Says I Do series! In case you’re wondering what the heck I’m talking about, check out my first post here on SMP. What brings me to the Hollywood hills in 5-inch heels, balloons in hand, all while sipping (poppin’ bottles!) champagne? I’m celebrating, darlings! We have nailed down one of the hardest parts of this process: we set the date! Sounds like a perfect occasion to trot around in a cute outfit if you ask me.
As you all know, picking a date can be such a struggle. In our case, struggle was an understatement. We’re having the wedding in Dallas and I live in Los Angeles—which makes it a destination wedding (without the beach). I feel like the weight of the world is (half way) off my shoulders. If they can’t make the wedding for a sister’s graduation, family vacation, or whatever, we have to deal with it. There comes a point where you have to just stop worrying about everyone’s schedules and pick a darn date. If they can be there, great; if not, that’s why you have a videographer.
With that ginormous task accomplished, I’ve got some exciting decisions and planning next. I know what you’re thinking: “AH! Photographer!”. Lucky for me, you’re witnessing the fabulousity of my actual wedding photographer. Check and check.
I’m so looking forward to asking my bridesmaids—coming up with a cute way to do that will be fun! I am a little nervous about the engagement shoot, believe it or not. Although I’m a stylist, it’s hard for me because I’m not just styling any old shoot. I’ve also got to worry about my sweet fiancé who, like most men, enjoys being AWAY from the camera. Whew!
