Vintage Travel Themed Engagement from Jade and Matthew Take Pictures
This adorable duo came to their talented team with the idea that was a little bit nautical, a little bit vintage-travel inspired and sprinkled with southern charm – and boy their team did they deliver. With Andrea Harper at the design helm, rentals from Gray Harper Event Maker, a gorgeous cake from Samantha Sanford and stunning pictures from Jade and Matthew Take Pictures – it’s safe to say their engagement session is in a league of its own. When Jen & Mike met with me last fall, I knew that I had to be a part of their big day. One can’t help but be captivated by their smiling faces and happy spirits. Once the couple gave me the green light, we went back and forth discussing theme and decor, but their main concern was bringing it all together. I assured them that at the end of the day, it is all about them, so a little bit of nautical, vintage travel, and southern charm was definitely do-able. We decided to incorporate elements of their wedding day into their engagement session, and this is what we are sharing with you today! The table setting is all vintage romance, with touches of lace, a collection of vintage jars and vases, an old globe, and warm, just picked looking floral arrangements. I made the garland and bouquet just as Jen wanted, with mostly filler greens and flowers. I sewed a bit of lace into the pillow cases to add just a bit of detail to their perfect mustard color. This is a look that any crafty bride can accomplish on her own! We chose the location of the shoot when Jen & Mike mentioned that it was their favorite park here in Savannah. It also happens to be one block away from my house! Jen & Mike mentioned that they would love to have Todd & Louie, their cats, involved in the shoot somehow, but I was not so certain. So we were all surprised when a neighborhood cat showed up to photo-bomb some of our images, Jen & Mike were happy about it of course!
