Wedding Inspiration From Gatsby to Bohemian at Spicers Clovelly Estate
Dedicating our days to all things pretty? It's what we do. A task made decidedly easier by this drop-dead gorgeous compilation of fashion, glamour and some downright amazing stylings, aka, one seriously beautiful inspiration shoot. From the sophistication of the 1920's all the way to the daring 60's, this is a shoot that takes four amazing decades and combines them with beautiful blooms from A Sculpted Leaf and a Sunny Girl Cakes masterpiece that is all kinds of fabulous. See it all captured by Jodi McDonald right here in the full gallery.
This collaborative shoot drew inspiration from not one but five eras. 1920's, 1940's, 1950's, 1960's and present day - from Gatsby to Bohemian. A century of Bridal elegance that most inspires today's wedding styles.
We wanted something a little less 'typical bridal shoot' and more dramatic fashion driven. We chose to select different designers for different eras to ensure as close as possible a true reflection of that era while using todays gorgeous gowns.
MXM Couture supplied two stunning gowns - 1920's and another made especially for this shoot. Judy Copley supplied two fabulous gowns - 1940's + Boho. Jennifer Giffords gorgeous gown captures the 1950's. Silver Sixpence was chosen for the cool 1960's.
Make-up and Hair, which was pushed to the extreme, really pulled the looks together. Each era researched and studied to ensure it was authentic in terms of style as well as colour. Some eras were more about the lip contour, others the emphasis on eyes or the hair.
Love Bird Weddings created a lavish table, first with place settings - each vintage plate set a different pattern with cutlery tied sweetly on top of napkins. A more decadent and lush table was then created - candelabras, crystal, florals, 5 tier cake, gold velvet, antipasto, fruit, champagne - for a luscious garden party.
A feature chandelier hung from the tree above a stunning majestic red velvet couch and splendid rug. Creative gorgeous bright florals with moss and miniature fruit were perfect for the table with magnificent cheery blossoms hung from above. A stunning 5 tier cake was both simple and spectacular with each tier a different style. Ruffled, gold moulding, plain with a featured flower and berries on top.
Spicers Clovelly Estate is a luxury venue on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Caters to the discerning couple looking for an intimate and unique venue for their wedding while also offering exclusive suites, a French cottage and the highly awarded restaurant The Long Apron. Their lawn under the imposing Jacaranda tree and impressive surrounds were a perfect fit for the shoot.
The shoot was captured on film to create a painterly ethereal look while ensuring a true representation of colours, tones and overall aesthetic.
