I’m talking everything from lovely succulent centerpieces to yummy treats to gold-dipped vases that simply scream “uber-chic,” all crafted with love by the beautiful bride, her amazing groom and her awesome friends and family. From Blair Marie Photography… Everything about Vivienne + Dave’s wedding was handmade by the couple themselves. They spent hours on inspiring wedding websites planning all the DIY’s they were going to do for the big day, and enlisted the helping hands of their bridal party to complete them. The brides dress was purchased and then altered to her liking by a family friend, the cookies baked by a friend, the succulent table centres planted by the bride herself, every single detail they dreamed up and created. Vivienne even painted the cake toppers and made all of the pompoms surrounding the venue.
It was a perfect day, with the forecast calling for rain, we crossed our fingers and checked the weather network every single day leading up to August 3, 2013. When the day finally arrived, not a single drop of rain fell! We had perfect weather for the outdoor wedding afternoon wedding taking place at the Glenmore Sailing Club, and a beautiful warm evening.
It was truly a celebration of love and family, as Vivienne and Dave have been together for many years, their lives already intertwined. It was a small and intimate wedding with their closest friends and family attending, some flying from as far as Venezuela to be there. Heartfelt speeches and a wicked dance party starting at 7pm (Venezuela time) made the party as perfect as the rest of the day.
Once the speeches were finished and the dance party drawing to a close, I stole the couple away to take some photos in the evening light off a dock near the water, it was a perfect opportunity for the two of them to be with one another and enjoy the moment.
