Sonoma Winery Wedding from Jessamyn Harris Photography
Behind every beautiful bouquet, is a beautiful wedding. But when said bouquet consists of the most amazing pink peonies you've ever laid eyes on (from Huckleberry Karen Designs), the wedding behind it is beyond, just like the bouquet itself. Jessamyn Harris Photography captured that exact wedding, and you must have been very, very good this week, because boy is it a treat!
From Jessamyn... Kimberly and Kester live in NYC, but came to Gloria Ferrer champagne caves and winery in Sonoma to celebrate their wedding with friends and family from all over the country (and world - Kester's family is from Trinidad!). The ceremony overlooked beautiful, sweeping views of Sonoma vineyards, and brought tears of happiness to Kim and Kester's eyes. Simple but elegant white curtains, a chandelier, and an amazing wedding gown complemented the natural beauty (and stunning florals by Huckleberry Karen!). After the couple jumped the broom, guests were led down to the cool, dark, sprawling caves for a delicious dinner and vibrant dancing and joy-filled reception. Chanda of A Monique Affair decorated the caves with rich, wine-inspired purples, champagne-inspired glittery details, a vast dessert spread, and candles and lounge-y furniture. All of that love and beauty in the dark, mysterious caves came together with music, toasts and speeches to give the reception the feeling of a big, wonderful party!
Kim wrapped lockets with pictures of her late grandma, grandaddy and aunt, and lace from her grandmother's veil, around her bouquet. She chose a Vera Wang gown, and only later found out that Kester had picked Vera Wang suits for himself and the groomsmen - "it felt like kismet!". Kim's colors and designs struck just the right balance of romance and class, and although they planned everything from afar, the whole wedding came together perfectly with the help of their local friends (who had the great job of doing the caterer and cake tastings!) and vendors.
