From the Bride… Chad and I wanted a simple wedding, centered on the things we love the most – our families and friends, good food, and being outside. We planned our wedding in about four months on a relatively modest budget, so we did a lot ourselves with the help of our families and friends. My bridesmaids helped me assemble our bouquets, boutonnières, and centerpieces (with flowers ordered in bulk from local vendors); my mom tailored the bridesmaids’ dresses, sewed the burlap table runners, and built the wooden signs; and Chad’s friends played the music for our ceremony and reception. Our sweetest memories are of saying our vows under the big old tree, sitting down with everybody we love to eat our family-style fried chicken dinner, and seeing everybody from my little sisters to grandparents dance their hearts out to folk and big band music.
