Because this isn’t just any drop-dead gorgeous wedding. No, it’s a drop-dead gorgeous wedding set against a stunning Hill Country backdrop boasting beautiful DIY details, a fab BHLDN gown and one serious set of paper good lovely from Lilco Letterpress. In other words, it’s the perfect way to start off the week and you can see it all right here in the full gallery.
From Shaun Menary Photography… Liz and Brian were married on September 29 against a breathtaking Texas Hill Country backdrop. The entire wedding day, from prep to party, unfolded on the grounds of a working organic farm in Wimberley, Texas. Once you meet this couple, you realize just how perfect this venue was for them! They are true environmentalists and love all things local, organic and sustainable. They forewent traditional wedding fare for vegan cuisine catered by East Side Kings food truck, and the bar was stocked with Austin-brewed beer and hard cider. And the invitations! Those were designed not only with the couple’s love of the outdoors in mind, but also their budget; the envelopes were off-the-shelf craft paper bags sealed with a personalized sticker and posted with vintage stamps from Ebay! The most charming element, however, was the Wall-E and Eve duo perched atop the wedding cake.
The bride also values family relationships and has a particular affinity for family heirlooms. Her veil was originally her mother’s, and Liz had it shortened for her own wedding day. The delicate leaf necklace had been melted down and molded from her grandparents’ wedding rings, and her pearl earrings were a friend’s family heirloom and also Liz’s something borrowed.
The centerpieces were created with flowers from the Austin farmer’s market. Liz purchased bucketfuls of wildflowers, and her mother and friends arranged them into stunning bouquets and displayed them in glass mason jars. The DIY wedding favors were more mason jars stuffed with wildflower seeds, peanut packets and Mentos.
Liz and Brian were so laid-back and extremely fun to photograph, and their DIY wedding was nothing short of incredible. It was beautiful reflection of their personal values and their love for each other, and that was a wonderful celebration to be a part of!
