Wisconsin Barn Wedding from Carly McCray + Cherry Blossom Events
Growing up in the Midwest, I spent quite a lot of time in Wisconsin. And while it may not have the city lights or ocean waves, there's a certain charm that could steal the heart of just about anyone. *Enter* this cozy Wisconsin barn wedding captured by Carly McCray. It sort of sums up all the reasons I so love my home, thanks to the work of Cherry Blossom Events and Daffodil*Parker -- wedding geniuses, if you will. You'll find every last detail in the full gallery, and trust me when I say, it's sooo worth a trip.
From Carly McCray... Heidi + Erik's vision for their wedding was strong from the moment they contacted me to photograph their day! Heidi's exact words..."We want our wedding to feel intimate, romantic, rustic and country." And that it was! The O'Brien barn is the perfect venue for that exact vibe, a still-working 6th generation family farm complete with cows! Around 120 of their friends attended and filled the barn with laughter throughout their sunny day.
Personal touches were everywhere...all of the bridesmaids picked out their own unique dresses, and the bridal party actually helped set up much of the decor at the rehearsal the night before to help feel a part of the wedding! (This was a special group of girls, almost all remaining friends since early elementary school.) The ceremony programs were handmade on Kraft paper into fans, which guests used to cool themselves off while also hitting up the lemonade bar. Soft pinks, blush, and natural colors filled the barn, along with beautiful vintage rentals and burlap, twine, and Kraft paper details galore. Baby's breath and other delicate florals filled blue mason jars on rustic tables, covered in burlap runners and adorned with gorgeous linens and vintage china and flatware. Custom chalkboard signs displayed the dinner, beer, lemonade bar + (alcoholic) bar selections as well.
After dinner, everyone enjoyed a dessert of their choice at the dessert bar before dancing the night away and enjoying the campfire outside! And no O'Brien barn wedding is complete without a few photos with the vintage Land Cruiser.
