Alexandria, Virginia Wedding from Amelia Johnson + Karson Butler Events

This might sound a little crazy, but I believe you can tell a lot about a bride by her wedding shoes. They sort of set the tone of the entire day -- casual, formal, quirky, glam --  I'm telling you, it's ALL in the shoes. So what better way to introduce this wedding than the bride's mint BHLDN pumps? They're every bit as sweet and stylish as the day crated up by Karson Butler Events and JM Flora. From Amelia Johnson... Su Chuen and Chia met as teenagers in Malaysia. From their teenage years through college and careers the two have been inseparable. They opted for an intimate wedding at River Farm in Alexandria, VA, and invited their beloved guests through hand-written notes. Chia, the groom, thought that a mind-map style seating chart would both beautifully serve as seating direction and to illustrate how the couple knew their guests.

The couple's unique love of dragon boating and Malaysia was incorporated brilliantly by Karson Butler Events. Boat paddles hung above the tented bar and rested against chairs by the ceremony. Guests were invited to pin notes of love and advice to ribbons streaming down a garden tree. Karson Butler Events created custom menus and chopstick cases from the stationery suite to showcase Malaysian cuisine.

Su Chuen and Chia's wedding was truly a close-knit, intimate event. Guests quickly became friends as they celebrated the couple's new life together.
