Perth Winter Wedding from I Heart Weddings
If there's one thing I love more than a drop-dead gorgeous Australian wedding, it's a drop-dead gorgeous Australian wedding with just a dash of vintage glamour. A wedding that combines stunning traditional meets modern details with the perfect amount of whimsy. I'm talking a breathtaking Lilli Marcs gown, beautiful blooms from Rosebud Design and a ghost chair filled reception at Frasers that is all kinds of lovely. See it all captured by I Heart Weddings right here in the full gallery.
From I Heart Weddings... Alessia and Carl were married on a beautiful winter's day in Perth, Western Australia. Winter in Perth is unlike winter in other parts of the world. The majority of winter days here are gloriously sunny with only a slight chill in the air.
Alessia and Carl had been together for a few years before Carl popped the question. Bride Alessia says the proposal was a complete surprise. “Carl proposed while we were on holiday on Halong Bay, Vietnam. He was so nervous carrying my ring in his backpack overseas and keeping it hidden from me, but I didn't suspect a thing!”
The couple wanted their wedding to be relaxed with a 1920’s old-Hollywood feel. “The lead up to the wedding was really relaxed, we didn't really stress about anything too much, we just focused on the things that were important to us and didn't sweat on the small stuff,” says Alessia. “We enjoyed all the aspects of planning a wedding, especially learning our wedding waltz! I had my wedding dress made in Sydney and had to go over there for two weekends and it was lovely to have that time with my Mum before the wedding.”
Alessia’s favourite memory from the day (apart from the actual wedding itself) was hanging out with the bridal party at Bar Lafayette in between the ceremony and the reception. “It was so nice to have a bit of time out with our closest friends and have a few laughs before the evening festivities began,” she says.
