Scottish Castle Wedding from Edward Osborn

I sort of feel like this bride won the lotto of weddings. She 1) Met a Scotsman 2) Fell in love and 3) Married in a countryside castle — in Scotland, no less. And while my heart is all but oozing with envy, I think I’ll forgive her. Mostly because she shared her amazing wedding photos from Edward Osborn that have “fairytale” written all over ’em. So let’s get to swooning, shall we?

From the Bride.. If you’d have asked me a few years back what my ideal wedding would have been I’d have said, very understated, hippy chic, in a field with hay bales, a laid back bbq and lots of dancing in bare feet. Oh how things changed! My inspiration and change of heart came mostly from my dress – a glamorous, one shoulder, backless silk gown – far from the simple lace number I’d always imagined but when I tried it on I just couldn’t take it off and I knew then that it was the one. That and the fact that I was marrying a Scotsman in a kilt – I couldn’t have the men upstaging the ladies!

Steven and I fell in love with our venue from the moment we stepped through the door and it fitted perfectly with what we were looking for.It had all the glamour and grandeur that goes with getting married in a Castle but also a real down to earth, unassuming quality that comes from being tucked away in the natural beautiful lush green Scottish countryside.

We planned our wedding from the US and had guests coming from far and wide so the fact that we had the Castle and grounds to ourselves for the whole wedding weekend was perfect and it meant that pretty much all of our guests could stay on the grounds together and make a weekend of it!

Almost our entire wedding was handmade by friends and family which meant the world to us as it gave that personal touch and a story behind everything used. From hundreds of origami birds as table settings to home made lavender Scottish Tablet – memories we will treasure and talk about for the rest of our lives.
