Quebec Wedding from Micheal B. Photography + Unity Weddings

Some days, you just need a warm atmosphere where smiles and laughter abound. They warm you right up and put a grin on your face - and not to mention, give your Pinning fingers some exercise. Unity Weddings put together a beautiful soiree on a lake for this couple, complete with DIY milk glass vases (!!!) and Micheal B. Photography has filled a gallery with beauty!

From the planner... Lee and Ruwan came to me over a year and half ago. They had seen photos of a wedding I had done at Cote Nord (featured on Style Me Pretty, actually), and fell in love with the romantic and intimate feeling of the place.

With a small guest list of 60 of their closest friends and family, and most of their vendors lined up, they wanted my help mostly with the decor. Using Lee's inspiration palette of soft pinks, lavenders, and cream, I designed a decor for her that would fit right in with the rustic nature of the venue. I inserted wood runners under her flowers, to tie in with the very woods-y feel of the building.

The wood runners were actually simple two by fours that I purchased and custom cut at my local hardware store. The brides father hand-carved little wooden owls to give to everyone as a keepsake. And since the bride wanted her flowers in milk glass, but also wanted to keep things budget-friendly, we purchased Ikea carved glasses and spray-painted them a pearl-y cream color.

The result was simple, warm, and intimate, just like the party itself.
