This adorable duo? They have a fabulous story. The kind of fabulous story that involves a workplace romance, a helicopter meets the Empire State Building proposal and a drop-dead gorgeous Belle Mer wedding. A sort of movie-eque beginning with sooo much pretty, it’s like a trifecta of awesome all coming together in beautiful imagery captured by Kelly Dillon Photography. From the Bride… We were both working at NBC Sports, but had not met yet. I decided to join the volleyball team and at the first game I saw him walking across the gym. My first thought was “Wow, there are never any cute guys at company volleyball.” Luckily, he was smitten as well. After that, sparks flew!
Hector told me we were going out for a quiet dinner for my birthday. Instead we arrived at the Westchester Airport and boarded a helicopter for a sunset tour of New York City. All the way up the Hudson I was nervous thinking this could be the day. Right when we circled the Empire State Building he popped the question. I was totally speechless. The pilot said, “Was that a YES?” I snapped out of it and replied. He then took me to a restaurant where all our family and friends were waiting for a surprise engagement party. He flew people in from all over the country just for the night. Then, an acapella band came out and performed. First happy birthday to myself, our niece and my cousin, then to entertain the guests. It was an amazing engagement!
Honestly, Pinterest was a life-saver. When an idea popped in my head, I opened the app and searched. For the bridesmaids, all my ladies are different; different height, size and coloring! I thought it would be mean on my part to dress them in the same gown and colors, so we chose the best for each individual. Hector and I both knew we wanted a venue on the water, and there are few more scenic places in the US than Newport, Rhode Island. It’s just magical there. Also, the fact that Belle Mer is stunning made the decision that much more easy.
