I have this awesome habit of falling head over heels for Texas weddings. One that I don’t see myself getting over anytime soon. Because when a sweet rustic meets vintage soiree like this darling Austin affair comes my way, it’s impossible NOT to find myself falling hopelessly in love. Especially when that sweet rustic meets vintage soiree includes lush florals from Wild Bunches, a Wtoo masterpiece and all kinds of amazing imagery from Kristi Wright Photography. See it all in the full gallery.
From Kristi Wright Photography… Kate and Zach are serious sweethearts. I met them last year at their friend’s wedding where I was also the photographer. Kate stopped me afterward to tell me about how she and Zach planned to have their destination wedding in Texas. They live in Seattle so we skyped and she told me all about their plans to have something fun for their guests – something that felt more like a backyard/home wedding – I was hooked. They had yard games and family style seating. It was so much fun.
Kate brought a little of the Pacific Northwest with her which can be seen in her details. The tables are named after some of the beautiful trees found in her neck of the woods. Other interesting details included the sash/belt she wore with her wedding dress that was adorned with the costume jewelry that belonged to her grandmother and that she had played with as a child. Each guest received a luggage bag tag with their name on it – so many people traveled far to go to their wedding – it was a perfect gift. I think my favorite detail is Kate’s tattoo of “Elijah Stapp” on her foot! “The tattoo is the signature of my great great great great (that’s four) grandfather from the Texas declaration of independence!” (the bride). I’m pretty sure her grandmother paid for it which makes it even cooler!
